Our mezcal encompasses everything Sababa means: excitement, satisfaction, and yearning, a breath of life, a rousing of ancestry and an untethered soul.

Sababa Mezcal was born when found ourselves saying Shalom, Amigos to a new sunny life in California from Mexico - different countries, different customs, yet the universal values of coming together in the company of good friends and a damn good mezcal were unchanged.

OUR INSPIRATION

Sababa Mezcal is a premium mezcal that honors the unique and mythical tradition of Mexican folklore by living inside a porcelain alebrije, which are brightly-colored fantastical and dream-like figures inspired by the imagination and handcrafted by Oaxacan artisans.

Our alebrije is a hybrid of three creatures:

• The owl, who signifies magic and ancient wisdom
• The rooster, who stands for pride, hope and a new day
• The bat who lives deep within Mother Earth and symbolizes renewal through its connection to the moon. The bat also symbolizes our commitment to the process of sustainable agave harvesting. Agaves co-evolved with bats over thousands of years, and bats are the main pollinators of the agave plant. Without bats, there is no sweet agave nectar

Our bright colors are a tribute to Oaxacan artisanry and an infusion of warmth, levity, and our chingon sababa spirit. Sababa Mezcal is an elixir that blends our traditions and agaves with your stories.
